Feeling Blue.

fashion, street style

As far as colour is concerned, I’m definitely more reserved. I mean, don’t get me wrong, I do have the occasional pop of colour, but on a whole it’s pretty monotone. With colour being very trendy of recent years It doesn’t seem to be something I’ve fully Indulged in. Of recent however I have noticed myself being drawn to one colour inparticaluar. Pink has always been a favourite colour of mine although it took me a while to realise it, the evidence pointing towards a favourite pink leather purse which was used to obliteration. Colour has an interesting affect on our psch and there is psychology behind this, studies show that many humans prefer colours from a shorter wavelength spectrum this means colours like blue as opposed to red. Blue has a calming effect on our minds which may be the reason we tend to prefer it over other colours like red and orange. I have tried red and it was just too overwhelming for my little ol’ brain. Well If you havent guessed by now the colour in question is indeed blue, inparticularly cobalt blue. I find this colour creeping into almost every clothes search favourite of mine that it’s most definitely becoming a trend. So I’ve collated my favourite cobalt blue pieces from my cart to share with you. As always these pieces are all pre-loved.

Really love the relaxed feel of these wool trousers as there from VB you know the quality will be great. The vintage levi is a great original piece that you wont see anyone else in.
Silk is my favourite fabric so an edgier colour adds a great statement to any wardrobe. I feel like we all love a ribbed anything so the jumper is a no brainer. The dress, which is also by Whistles has a lovely classy summer feel whilst still serving looks with its hue and pattern.

Fave Topshop midi dresses

fashion

Dresses are more in than ever. There has been a modesty revolution (although it may not seem that way depending on where you look) Designers like cecile Bahnsan and molly Goddard have revolutionized the smock dress making it arguably one of the most sought after styles right now.

I’ve noticed a trend in the dresses I’ve chosen they are all super girly either the shapes or colours of the dresses with pink and floral patterns. If you’ve read my previous posts youd have seen me talking about moving away from Jean’s and wanting to incorporate more dresses into my wardrobe for the elegant look. Dresses are great as you can just throw one on and it can change your whole mood and how you carry yourself. You can team them up with heels or sandals for a more relaxed look .

Here’s a few of my fave dresses available at topshop right now

White floral cut out midi dress £39.00
This dress is so cute. I love the almost 70s like flower pattern and the colour scheme in delicate shades of pink and purple. The cut out detail provides and added layer to its feminine appeal and the puffed sleeves means it’s perfectly on trend.
Pink floral midi ruffle dress £49
Another floral number. Florals are definitely more appealing than they’ve ever been and you can not beat this number. The material look sso sheer and delicate and again teamed with pinks and orange is a very appealing dress. It comes with the added ruffling detail making this dress a perfect style for the warming weather. It also incorporates that poofy sleeve detail but tonal lesser degree so if your new to big sleeves it’s a great place start.
Pink checked organza dress £49
This dress is a little bit more androgynous than the first two style because of its button up style however I love how the colour and fabric contradict the masculine edge of the dress. Again the sleeves add that much needed feminine touch to this dress.
Pink animal print cut out dress £45
This silky dress is super elegant and cute. It has a subtle cut out detail around the neckline with a cinched style waist line giving it a more fitted shape. I love long sleeve dresses so this is a definite winner in my eyes.
Orange ruffle frill midi tea dress £44.10
Again loving the fabric this dress is made from, it’s super flowy combined with the ruffles on the sleeves and skirt of the dress, I can imagine floating down the road feeling like a queen in the breeze. I’ve also recently realised how lovely shades of browns and oranges look against brown skin.
Pale blue brushed oversized balloon sleeve midi dress £31.00
I feel like this dress is the wild card dress as it has abit of a different feel (without pointing out the obvious its blue) I love the contrast between the black and feel it’s quite quirky in that it’s very abstract. The sleeves follow the same poof style and it’s long sleeve which tick all my dress heaven boxes

All of these dresses are still available at topshop.com now and any of them are on sale so grab yourself a quarantine bargain.
