Shopping can be therapeutic for alot of people, in fact Studies have shown that the reasoning behind impulse shopping is closely connected with the chemical high we get from purchasing an item, even if it’s an item we may not necessarily need. This is known as impulse buying. Studies have also shown that we get the same serotonin high from adding an item to our cart and not proceeding with the checkout as we do from actually buying it in real life. Ive decided to take this information and run with it and although it hasn’t completly curbed my impulse buying, it has allowed me a chance to put my items on hold and come back to them if I really feel I need them.

Sticking with this theme I have decided to put some of my pending buys into a sort of look book creating street styles with some of my best finds. Shopping can be therapeutic but this is definitely the next best thing.

I’ve had my eye on this joseph silk blazer for some time now, teamed with this joseph shirt dress and slides it creates a chilled out vibe styling with the cult gaia bag brings a summer vibe through.
I loved all these items but we all know a fendi baguette is an investment buy especially when it’s a vintage piece. If you’ve seen my may wishlist post you’ll recognise a few of these pieces, if not you can always scroll down to check it out.

Leave me a comment if you have an insane pending cart and with what retailer.

Feeling Blue.

fashion, street style

As far as colour is concerned, I’m definitely more reserved. I mean, don’t get me wrong, I do have the occasional pop of colour, but on a whole it’s pretty monotone. With colour being very trendy of recent years It doesn’t seem to be something I’ve fully Indulged in. Of recent however I have noticed myself being drawn to one colour inparticaluar. Pink has always been a favourite colour of mine although it took me a while to realise it, the evidence pointing towards a favourite pink leather purse which was used to obliteration. Colour has an interesting affect on our psch and there is psychology behind this, studies show that many humans prefer colours from a shorter wavelength spectrum this means colours like blue as opposed to red. Blue has a calming effect on our minds which may be the reason we tend to prefer it over other colours like red and orange. I have tried red and it was just too overwhelming for my little ol’ brain. Well If you havent guessed by now the colour in question is indeed blue, inparticularly cobalt blue. I find this colour creeping into almost every clothes search favourite of mine that it’s most definitely becoming a trend. So I’ve collated my favourite cobalt blue pieces from my cart to share with you. As always these pieces are all pre-loved.

Really love the relaxed feel of these wool trousers as there from VB you know the quality will be great. The vintage levi is a great original piece that you wont see anyone else in.
Silk is my favourite fabric so an edgier colour adds a great statement to any wardrobe. I feel like we all love a ribbed anything so the jumper is a no brainer. The dress, which is also by Whistles has a lovely classy summer feel whilst still serving looks with its hue and pattern.

Do you have a favourite colour and are there any colours you’ve yet to incorporate into your wardrobe? Share your thoughts in the comment section

4 depop May Wishlist.

fashion

It’s still quarantine and I dont know about you but I seem to be acquiring a very long list of things I’m almost certain I need. (Let’s pretend that’s just a side effect form self-isolating and not a regular affair)

I’m building a capsule wardrobe; does this ever end – consisting of more quality garments with a minimalist style. More timeless pieces that have a more elegant style but also still playful. Better quality means less consumption and more sustainability which is an important issue for us all to consider when we shop, especially for short lived trends.

If you dont know by now then I’ll just have to tell you again about my love for depop. Depop is a platform that let’s individuals sell there pre-loved clothes. One of the many benefits of this is the opportunity for regular girls like me access to clothes we definitely would not be able to afford. Shopping pre-loved is definitely a smart choice for fashionistas and is one thing that all luxury fashion bloggers have in common when talking about how they built there closets. I’ve whittled down 4 items from my wishlist to share with you, as seen below.

1. When the prada ….collection was available every ‘fashion girl’s had this beauty. It’s a unique piece that is abit deer in price for something to small (RRP 170) however I feel that it is a great addition to any wardrobe. It adds a splash of colour to any outfit, its girly and feminine and its unique in its design.

2. The ganni denim dress is another past season dress I’ve been pondering over for some time. Denim is one of those fabrics I’ve been slowly moving away from as I feel there abit manly ( lol dont @ me) don’t get me wrong, I think a good staple jean is great to own as I’ve gotten older they’ve gotten more and more uncomfortable to be in which is another reason I’m adding more dresses to my wardrobe. Ganni dress RRP

3. Anyone who really knows fashion knows the loewe puzzle bag is a popular staple for many. As well as its practicality, its craftsmanship in shape is what I feel has won people over, this bag coats over £1000 so there must be something special about it, right? It’s not one of those in your face designer label bags but more subtle. It’s a if you know, you know bag. You can get this bag for half the price if you shop pre-loved or you could just buy the dupe. Either way it’s a bag thays been on my wishlist for some time.

4. Last but not least these Joseph slides have been haunting me since I set my eyes on them. There not a shoe I would usually go for, however they look so comfy. The contrast stitch and buckle at atoich of edge to them and may be a staple for spring/summer. I like to try and stay away from super trendy pieces that everyone has partly because I cant afford them and partly because I’d rather not look like a carbon copy but rather look for pieces that I feel work for functionality and fashion.

The Ordinary Review

skin care, Skin Care Saturday’s

Hello readers, I hope the year has been teating you well, I’m back with a quick review of the brand that’s brought a great amount of hype within the last year. The ordinary ‘clinical formulations wh integrity’a brand brought to you by Deciem, stated as being an umbrella of brands focused on advanced funational beauty.

I purchased a few different products and have been using them for a good few months now to see how they fair on my sensitive, dry skin. Like many peeople intersted in skin care at a good price and witgood ingredients I ‘d seen quite a few reviews on youtube so was looking forward to trying this brand. Some products were, to be frank, reeking havoc on said dry sensitive skin however some I would definitely repurchased. So first I’ll just list the products that I bought. My first impressions were the packaging is so very chemistry like which I loved, each product comes with a dropper for easy application.

  1. Squalene cleanser – I absolutely love this product. The consistency is like a gel, however once warmed between your palms changes to an oil. Squalene is a plant derivative that mimics an oil the skin naturally makes to lock in moisture. This product gently melts any make up or dirt on the skin with ease and without stripping the skin. Used in the morning and before bed.
  2. Glycolic Acid 7% toning solution – Glycolic acid has become increasing popular as more women are interested in the ingredients of there skin care. It works as a gentle exfoliater in the form of a toner, useto brighten and refine skin texture. I found this product to be great for removing any excess oil or dirt that may left on the skin after cleansing. My skin felt and looked really clean after the first application. It lasts a very long time. Initially I was worried this woud dry the skin out but with its added tasmanian pepper berry, ginsng and aloe vera it balances the skin well.
  3. The buffet – this product claims to be a multi technology peptide serum whch targets multiple signs of ageing at once. It combines a high number of highly concentrated peptides (Amino acids) with the infamous Hyaluronic acids for an all in one anti aging treatment. It is a serum consistency which visibly targets surfe hydration, fine lines and textural irregularities. I really do like the serum formulas the the ordinary have. This is another great product that I would repurchase.
  4. Caffeine solution 5% + EGCG- is a lighly textured serum with a high concentrated caffeine and EGCG confiction delivering a potent blend of antioxidants and anti-inflammatories to the eye area, this serum works hard to brighten dark circles and reduce the appearance of dark circles. I feel like eye gels, creams in general are just another step the a skin care routine and sometimes doubt the effectiveness of using one, this being said, this product works well in cooling down and moisturising the delicate eye area. It’s ok.
  5. ‘B’ oil – I chose this oil because it thee most blends of oil so figured it would be the most value for money however I was sadly mistaken. The oil contains a blend of squalene, crambe Abyssinica seed oil (comparale to jojoba oil) bisabolo, a natural alcohol that is a primary conconstituent of the essential oil from German chamomile ,rosemary leaf extract,, tomato fruit extract, argan oil, rosehip oil, marula oil and some othr oils too long to list. However on next purchase I may go with just one concentrated oil instead of a whole bunch of oils mixed together
  6. Niacinamide 10%+ zinc 1%- is a serum consistency designed to reduc appearance of skin blemishes, pores, and congestion by regulating sebum production. Niacinimide is great for improving skn health,, boosting skin immunity andd improving moisture retention by strengthening the epidermal barrr whilst zinc supports skin strucurea by healing damaged skin a encouraging the production of collen and elastin. I have to say this ia decent product, I really enjoyed ccosistency on the skin as the serum absorbs quite well. Generally a good product.
  7. Aha 30% bha 2% peeling solution – this peeling solution is incredibly popular with it’s almost blood like resemblance caused by the berry extract. At first I thought this produc was abit of a gimmick but no half way through the product ivenoticed it really helps to lift the dead layer of skin away revealing a brighter, smoother complexion. I woold definitely repurchase.
  8. Natural moisturizing factors + HA- thas moisturiser was disappointing. On first application this product felt moisturising, a little goes a long way. However it’s a little dulling, afteas few times using this I noticed astarted getting little spots caused by skin drying and managed to whitle it down to a mixture of this cream and possibly the b oil. Works geat as a hand moisturiser.
  9. Agireline solution 10%- is a water baes serum that claims to prevent mmuscle movement that leads to wrinkle formation. This is like botox in a bottle, you can literally see the difference in lines on the forhead which is great. I would keep this as a staple.

After watching all thee youtube video reviews I do feel somwhat disappointed that may results were not a great as some other peoples, however there are quite a few products I am still too try and may find more lluck with. Out of the products I have tried there are some great ones and would highly recommend the squalene cleanser as my overall favourite followed by the airgglne solution, and the niacinimide with EGCG
